Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat, Headache And Shoulder Pain

I have had a throbbing headache at the base of my skull, in my neck down to my shoulders and a sore throat/ trouble swallowing for 36 hours or so. No fever. All very uncommon for me, I rarely get headaches of any kind and they usually pass quickly with Tylenol. Symptoms search keeps coming up with meningitis.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It seems you are having a common cold, which is a viral infection. It is generally self-limiting and it should start to get better in a couple of days. Meanwhile, please make sure you drink plenty of fluids, rest and take Ibuprofen 600 mg every 6 hours after food.

If you are not better in 2-3 days or you notice any worsening or fever or other new symptoms, please see your doctor.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
