Suggest Treatment For Soreness In The Lower Abdomen

Hello. I have extreme lower stomach soreness since I woke up this morning, and my stomach is also super bloated. It doesn’t look very normal and I’m a little worried. I also drank last night, and am very stressed out with finals If that matters at all. Thanks!

Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Since you had drinks in the night before you must have also eaten something form outside or salty and spicy.
This can cause intestinal infection causing the bloating and soreness in the lower abdomen due to gas producing bacteria.
Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Get the stool tests done.
You may also need a clinical evaluation by a Doctor, examination and investigations like X-ray of the abdomen in standing position, ultrasonography of the whole abdomen and tests of blood.
If there is intestinal infection then a course of an antibiotic would help you.
Also take activated charcoal tablets, antacid and a PPI like Omeprazole for symptomatic relief.
Try to avoid antispasmodic if there is tolerable pain as it can cause more bloating.
Further management will be as per the cause found and response to the treatment.
Go to ER if there is no relief within a few hours or if the symptoms increase and if there is nausea, vomiting and so on.
