Suggest Treatment For Split Bone In Thumb After Injury

Hi i recently split the top bone of my thumb. the impact that caused the break also opened the skin on the other side of my thumb (not the side that got hit by the ball). the bone is in its correct place, and i could not see any bone protruding through the skin. there was nothing sharp present to cause the cut either. is this classified as a compound fracture? if not what would it be?
