Suggest Treatment For Stabbing Pain In The Chest

I have been having short periods of discomfort in my chest all week, it s happened about once a day and lasted maybe a couple minutes, early this morning I was woken by sharp stabbing pains in my chest, I am 59, female and both parents had heart conditions, should I go to the emergency room if it happens again?

Your symptoms suggest a heart ailment..
I would suggest you to get a electrocardiogram (EKG) done rather than wait for an emergency..
If the EKG shows any abnormality visit your cardiologist for further treatment..
And if the EKG is normal then go for a treadmill stress test..
