Suggest Treatment For Staph Infection

Hello, my 11 year old daughter s urine culture showed staph. Sensitive to a lot of antibiotics but because of her age, we were given cotrimoxazole, which has a 2+ sensitivity. Is there a better drug that she can take that has a 3+ sensitivity, thanks. Vivian.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The sensitivity is different in every patient. So, if the urine culture shows the sensitivity of bacteria for Co-Trimoxazole, I suggest to use this antibiotic. I also recommend to drink a lot of liquids and especially cranberry juice.

Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Regards,
