i have had severe gas cramps for over a week. have tried eating bland and saw MD on thursday who said it was probably gastritis and gave me nexium. i have tried every OTC for stomach issues, but none have given me any relief. it seems to be getting worse and seems to follow 20 mins or so after I eat or drink something.

Hello,

You may be suffering from Irritable bowel syndrome which is characterized by bloating abdominal pain and which is relieved by passing stools which may contain mucous or non-mucous.

Avoid spicy food, alcohol, and smoking. Use tablet Normaxin twice a day for five days. Also, avoid Dairy products and caffeinated drinks.

If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
