Suggest Treatment For Stomach Discomfort And Vomiting In Children

My 6 year old complained of stomach discomfort. His meals were a bit irregular that day. I thought it could be gas so gave him a tablet of digene. Later that night, he vomited, and few more times through the night. I gave him water to keep him from dehydration, but he would puke it out after a while. In the morning he was okay. He had some lemon tea and white bread and strawberries. Is there something I should be worried about? Thank you Kindly.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your child had developed gastritis due to some bad food and he was vomiting. You gave him water to keep hydrated but it should be ORS based. Anyway Digene was not required as it produces gas and may induce vomiting. Instead tab Ranitidine may be given in proper dosage. As child was fine in morning, so nothing to worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
