Suggest Treatment For Stomach Pain And Black Stools

Been having stomach pains for about a month now, usually in the early mornings. But the last few days my stool has been black and tar like, I read that pepto bismo cause this to happen and took one dose 3 nights ago. Stopped after first stool was black, still 3 days later im still having minor stomach pains and black stool. Wondering what my next steps should be?

Hi,
you may be having some upper GI bleed ,get some routine blood investigations like complete blood count ,ESR,CRP,and an endoscopy to rule any ulcer or any other cause.
