Suggest Treatment For Stomach Pain And Vomiting

I have had 4 surgeries pertaining to ulcers,h-pylori, last was a complete gastrectomy . Having lots of trouble with digesting and GERD, I have had 2 GI feeding tube and was getting nutrition from both. I am again having some of the same symptoms and have replaced infuse port to restart the TPN? Have had esophagus dilated several time. Have been in a lot of pain and vomiting. My regular GI Dr. no longer accepts my ins and I am going to have to go another route. Any advise would be appreciated

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

Severe abdominal pain with vomiting could have many causes but should be evaluated further.

Since you have already done complete gastrectomy and ulcer operations then the cause could be in small bowels.

You should undergo routine blood investigations and serum electrolytes ,liver function tests,urinalysis and stool for blood and abdominal ultrasound to detect the underlying cause.

Treatment is mainly symptomatic if there is no infection.

Although antibiotics like norfloxacin with tinnidazole should be given with anti-emetics like tab.ondasetron mg twice daily.

You will need to continue TPN as earlier for which you will need to see gastroenterologist for detailed medical history and clinical examination to diagnose the cause.
