Hi.
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for your query.
The weird bubbly noises of the stomach are called as 'Borborygmi' and the probable reasons can be
intestinal obstruction or erophagia causing excessive gas or intestinal infection causing gas formation or may be related to anxiety and stress.
Difficulty in swallowing could be because of dysphagia or
esophagitis but if it is occasional then there is no need to worry and if it persists longer and troublesome then you should be concerned.
If your discomfort and bubbling noises are not so troublesome then you should take antispasmodics (
mebeverine) with antacids (
pantoprazole) which are available over the counter for symptomatic relief.
If symptoms are troublesome or persist longer even after symptomatic treatment then I would advise you the following investigations.
1) Routine investigations of the stool, urine and blood.
2) X-ray of the abdomen in standing position.
3) CT scan of the abdomen with double contrast to find for intestinal obstruction / mass/ cancer etc.
If all these remain inconclusive then upper GI
endoscopy should be done.
The further treatment will be based on the findings of the investigations.
So,in that case you will need to see gastro-physician if problem persists.
Regards,
