Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Bruising On The Arm

My mother s arm (inside of area around elbow) had bruising and was swollen today. She is 84 and mostly bedridden. She has Parkinson s. Two of her caregivers had gotten her up to give her a shower. They also noticed her fingers and toes turning purple. My father said it lasted a couple of hours. A visiting nurse came to the house and checked her for a blood clot. By that time the swelling was going down.
