Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Bruising On Thumb
fell backwards 7 weeks,had a distal fracture. wore a munster cast for 4 weeks and a tight half cast that pressed into my thumb and right wrist. I couldn t move my fingers nor thumb. the top of my hand and thumb became swollen. 2 weeks tomorrow the cast was removed and I ve had 3 PT s for movement and for the swelling in my elbow and and a glove for my hand. needed to cut out thumb because of pain. the pain still continues in thumb along with swelling and black and blue marks on thumb and wrist,Dr. said 8 weeks but haven seen him since, only ass t

Hi,Welcome to healthcare magic.Looking to your query probably you are suffering from distal radius fracture. You said the cast was tight so your thumb and finger swollen .This condition will be relieved by active movements and exercises and analgesics(Diclofenac sodium 50 mg three times a day after meals). Condition may take long time to completely relief ,sometimes up to 6 months I think my answer be of help.Your further queries are welcome.
