Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Pain In Toes

Hi, the other day I stubbed my toe at about 11:00 that afternoon at about 1:00 i noticed all the swelling and pain. I think I may have broken it, should I go to the doctors or will it heal by it self and is there anything I can do to make it better.

Hello,

If you doubt you may have broken then taking an X-ray will be the right thing to do.

But usually, there won't be any fracture just by hitting the foot as it's the strongest portion of the body due to its weight-bearing functions.

Try icing and keep the leg elevated over a pillow and apply crepe bandage. See how you feel it. if the pain comes down in a day or two then I don't think it will be a fracture.

Usually, in most cases, it's a micro trauma to the fibers of the muscles. but they heal with conservative management at home itself.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
