Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Pain On Wrist

hi,

I slipped while playing and fell on my right wrist which has pain and swelling now. I believe it is towards ulnar side of wrist i.e. the little finger side. Any suggestion as it has been more then 24 hours and mild swelling is not going even after icing.

Many thanks,

Swat

hi,
if the pain and swelling has reduced from it was initially you can wait for another day or two and continue applying ice packs 5-6 times a day for 10 min.
you can start with an anti inflammatory medicine like diclofenac or ibuprofen.
also give rest to the affected part.
but if the pain is too much or increasing i suggest you should get an xray of wrist anteroposterior and lateral view to rule out any fracture which would like treatment accordingly
regards
