Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Soreness In The Gums
My sons gums between his upper two front teeth are swollen and sore. When he bites down his bottom front teeth touch the gums at the back of his two front teeth. The dentist has said something about cutting this area of his gums to help the problem. Is this really nessecary? Is there some other options that do not involve surgery?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that there is severe inflammation in his gums leading to swelling to the level that it is touching the lower teeth on biting.. So first of all before directly opting for surgery you should consult a Pedodontist or a Periodontist and get him evaluated to rule out the exact cause of gum enlargement.. In case if it is due to infection then a course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory painkillers can help.. In case if it is due to some other reasons and swelling does not reduce then surgical excision is the only option left followed by antibiotics and painkillers to prevent infection and pain..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
