Suggest Treatment For Swelling In Arm After An Injury

My left arm and hand swell and turn red and even purplish after I had an icd implant. I ve been to the mayo clinic and they weren t alarmed. I ve had it checked for clots and nothing. They did say that I was missing a vein in my left arm. I am 45 and I am extremely active. I run/jog daily, coach cross country, bike, teach, and try to stay active. After I lift weights, run, or even shower, my arm swells

I have studied many such cases and I think that it can be related to your implant. It can causing some problem leading to repeated swelling and inflammation. I would suggest you to meet the doctor who put this and take his advise. I would also suggest you to not to overuse this arm. You can take pain killers like NISE or voveron for pain relief. If there is swelling than a compression bandage is also a good option. I hope this answer will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
