Dear Dr., On March 23, 2014 I developed compartment syndrome in both my legs as a result of being immobile for over 7 hours during surgery for Ulcerative Colitis. On March 24, 2014, I had fasciotomy performed on both my legs. The procedure was repeated again on the 25. Since that time, my left leg is still swollen and is the same size in circumference since the fasciotomy. Swelling for this leg has not gone down. I had an ultrasound and an MRI done. MRI shows a build up of fluid. This leg does not drain either as the surgeon tried to do so and nothing came out. The surgeon told me to live with it and that hopefully the swelling will eventually go down. I am able to do sports and so forth, but have on strength in my legs and I cannot run (although I try). Do you know if there is anything I can do? It certainly does not seem normal. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards, Mark YYYY@YYYY
