Suggest Treatment For Swelling On Hand After Falling

My daughter (2 years old) was playing and fell on her outstretched hand. There is swelling at the hand at the lower portion of her hand (between thumb and pointer, but lower portion of her hand. She seems to be fine but that swelling is still there. I have applied ice. Should I go to the E.R.?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi
Welcome to healthcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that your 2 year daughter got injury to her wrist by fall on outstretched hand. There is no symptoms except swelling. It is most likely soft tissue injury but you can get her x ray done to exclude fracture. Treatment of it is analgesic such as ibuprofen. Vitamin B and C is helpful in recovery. You can discuss with your Doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any further questions then don't hesitate to writing to us . I will be happy to help you.
