Hello dear,welcome to HCM forum.

As it is already 40 hours, and if no history of loss of loss of consciousness/severe headache/nausea/vomiting/drowsiness etc, this need not be worried much,as there is no chance of internal injury or bleed.
But,as the swelling is spreading, this is to be treated with anti inflammatory agents and antibiotics to prevent further progress and secondary infection.
Your doctor will guide you.
Meanwhile, you apply some ice packs and can take analgesics like ibuprofen for pain.

Hope this answer will help.
Thank you.
