Suggest Treatment For Swelling On The Forehead After An Injury
Doctor My child 6.5 years oil had a fall in his school 40 hours ago and a bump on his forehead, after 6 hours later from hitting time, the swollen spread near to eyes and nose. He is normal, no vomiting or no no abnormality shows. Have any risk or have I need to consult a neurologist? Please answer.
As it is already 40 hours, and if no history of loss of loss of consciousness/severe headache/nausea/vomiting/drowsiness etc, this need not be worried much,as there is no chance of internal injury or bleed. But,as the swelling is spreading, this is to be treated with anti inflammatory agents and antibiotics to prevent further progress and secondary infection. Your doctor will guide you. Meanwhile, you apply some ice packs and can take analgesics like ibuprofen for pain.
