Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Arms

I came home from the hospital two days ago. Yesterday my left arm swelled up turned red and discolored all the way from my fingers to my shoulder. I had been in the hospital eight days to have fluid drawn off from around my heart. The Pick (Pic?) Line was in my left arm. I am three hours away from the heart hospital that I was in. My arm feels better when I keep it elevated in my recliner chair and I am keeping a heating pad on it. The normal flesh color is returning and some of the swelling is going down, but I m not sure what to do about it or what caused this problem. I have no fever or any other symptoms.
