Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Shin

6 months ago I hit my shin bone accidentally with a framing hammer causing a severe abrasion and swelling! Now I recently got swelling in the same leg and was told I had a blood clot in the upper thigh. I am currently on blood thinner (i.e. Coumadin) and using a compression stocking. Could the clot be caused by that injury? I am a very active person.

Hi the chances of that injury causing blood clot are minimal, as the duration is 6 months. I would advise you to go for your full blood profile to find out the cause of your problem.
