Suggest Treatment For Swollen Ankles

i just woke up to go to work (as a waitress) and my ankles are swollen - like monsters, really that bad, with one leg swelling up toward knee. No pain but frozen feeling. Can t go to work b/c of swelling - can t put any shoes on. Can I wait to see my Dr. on Monday?

Thanks for writing to us,

I have studied your case with diligence.
As per your history pattern there can be persistent tear in ankle ligament leading to persistent hugh swelling.
I will advise to do MRI ankle for soft tissue involvement.
Till time you can continue physiotherapy exercises and also use supportive splint or brace.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and TENS will help in early healing.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.
