Suggest Treatment For Swollen Bartholin Glands

I have a small blister on inner side of a very swollen Bartholin gland. The swelling occurred after using tampons for a day and then had sexual intercourse, which I had to stop. Had it checked out and doctor thinks it may be a cold sore on vagina and not to worry. Put me on viral medication. But I am worried about swelling especially can find iit had to walk etc. What do you think?
