Suggest Treatment For Swollen Feet, Diarrhea & Nausea

A friend of mine has been dealing with swollen feet and ankles, nausea, diarrea, weight loss and stomach bloating for the past 2 months. She is 33 years old and I am worried about her. She doesn t feel that anything is wrong and I am feeling that it could be something serious. I feel that her body is sending out red flags all over the place

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your findings of about your friend dealing with swollen feet, ankles, nausea, diarrhea, weight loss and bloating of the stomach for the last 2 months. She is 33 and feels nothing about ti.
The combination of so many symptoms definitely indicates that there is a medical problems which has caused this.
Nausea, diarrhea and bloating for 2 months along with weight loss is definitely indicating that there is an intestinal problem that needs thorough
clinical evaluation and investigations that have lead to weight loss and edema as you have said.
I would advise you the following:
Preliminary tests of stool, blood and urine.
Ultrasonography of abdomen to be followed by CT scan of the abdomen not to miss anything.
This will help to get a proper diagnosis and a plan for further treatment.
The probable diagnosis can be related to intestinal chronic infection, tuberculosis or so.
The resultant anemia, hypo-proteinemia and effects on kidney can cause swelling of feel and ankles.
I find this answer helpful
