Suggest Treatment For Swollen Knuckles And Tonsils In A Child
My little boy of 5 has for the last year suffered with swollen tonsils, to the point I don t know how he manages to swallow. The doctors only ever give him antibiotics which make no difference. Also in the last month I have noticed his knuckles have become swollen and the skin has gone all funny.
Hi...I do not think that his tonsillitis is related to his knuckles swelling. The knuckles swelling might be related to a vasculitis or connective tissue disorder. I suggest you consult a pediatrician or a pediatric rheumatologist for this. Antibiotics are not an answer for this. The kid definitely requires evaluation for Juvenile rheumatoid Arthritis. Regards - Dr. Sumanth
