Suggest Treatment For Swollen Painful Fingers

Hi, I have 2 swollen fingers (middle and ring) around the nuckles. I cannot close my hand because of the pain and it seems to go up the finger to the top of the hand. I got this after bowling. I went to Dr and he put me on prednizone which helped but came right back after meds were finished. Why dont you guys tell that this is a pay site first? So not nice. Where do people go that cannot afford helth care? Retorical question. There is no help for us.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for your query.

The pain and swelling in the fingers, is likely to be due to inflammation in the area. Doing a hot fomentation and taking a mild pain killer will help[ you in decreasing the pain. In case the pain persists then consult an orthopedician for a physical examination.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
