Suggest Treatment For Swollen Thumb

Wow, didn t expect this. My husband s thumb is swollen and red and extremely painful. He doesn t remember cutting it but it has been like that for a few days now, and getting worse daily. We are assuming it s some kind of infection and that he d better see our family doctor tomorrow. Any thoughts?

After going through your query I concluded that your husband may be having infection of his thumb. Whether you are having fever. If you are also have fever then it is more likely to be you are having infection. Treatment of it is antibiotics and analgesic such as ibuprofen. For it may see a Orthopedic surgeon or hand surgeon. Vitamin B and C will help in recovery. Elevation of limb and active thumb joint movements reduce swelling. You can discuss with your Doctor about it. Hope I have answered your query.
