Hi doc, my 9 month old son seems to have swollen toes. It's winters here. I get swollen toes in winters too. Wasn't sure if my son got it too. Also he has a red spot just below his left toe. Looks like an insect bite. His GP said it nothing to worry about. But its been 4 weeks. And no improvement. Pls advice.
Hi thanks for your question. its not normal for your 9 month old son to have swollen toes. If he has an insect bite on his foot I would be concerned that he may have a cellulitis or infection in the skin in the foot as a result of this. If this is the case he would also have redness, increased warmth and pain in his foot. Cellulitis is treated with antibiotics if your child is sick then these would need to be given intravenously.
