Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 36 year old son is a certified master bicycle mechanic and over especially the past two years has developed worsening tendonitis in both his hands, to the point where his hands during rest will automatically clench into a fist and they are very painful and tingling. With his hands outstretched, they look very strange and the tendons are quite pronounced and he has to stretch out his hands frequently to be able to just move them. He is very good at what he does, but his passion and love for bicycles is hurting him and I am concerned that as he becomes older, this condition may worsen. Thank You.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Tendinitis in his case is most likely due to over use. He should consider some modifications to the way he work. He should give lesser effort to the tendons. Local corticosteroid injections like triamcinolone will be helpful for this. Physiotherapy also can be done. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
