My husband used to chew tobacco. He quit about5 years ago and have started again about 3 weeks . He now has the symptoms again of runny bowel movements? He had a colonoscopy 5 years ago. Then told to take diarrhea medicine and did for along time . Should he be seen by his family doctor about it ?

Yes, this needs to be evaluated with a stool culture and another colonoscopy
This could indicate a colon infection, inflammatory bowel disorder, or irritable bowel syndrome
