Hi, I hope you can help me, in the past i had really poor hygiene and I have had these fleshy lumps around the opening of my anus. I really don't want to go to a doctor, i've had them for about 5 years and never told anybody. I'm scared that I'm going to find out I have something life threatening. I really hope you can help me
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Since you have fleshy lumps around the anus for 5 years that a a very long period it is almost certain that they may not be anything that threaten life and how can one know without being actually examined by a General Surgeon and biopsied if required. The most probable causes are: These can be prolapsed piles not causing any symptoms. Anal warts. Hemangioma and so on. This can be diagnosed by the following: Per-rectal examination and ano-proctoscopy should get you the most appropriate diagnosis. Get operated if these are piles or wart and if anything suspicious the mass will be sent for biopsy.
