Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history you are having post herpetic neuralgia.
My treatment advice is -
1. Apply a lignocaine gel twice daily on affected skin.
2. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain.
3. Take a vitamin b12 supplement once daily for 3 months.
4. Other treatment options are oral gabapentin, carabamazepine and amitryptiline taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
