Suggest Treatment For Thigh Pain In Kid

My 9 year old daughter has been complaining about her legs hurting (especially her thighs). She will be sleeping with me and and start hitting her legs and when I start to massage them I notice the are rock hard. I never had this with my 13 year old and wonder if it is growth spurts or something else going on?
