Suggest Treatment For Tibial Fracture

i have re-fractured my left tibula. The original break was done in Nov 2010 and never knitted together properly. No surgery and i am in a cast again this time. I went over on it on dec 27 2011 and whilst i appreciate it is still very early days in terms of the healing process i have begun to feel a almost at times excrutiating burning/stinging sensation when i move around or when i hobble about on my crutches from resting (no weaight bearing for the next two weeks). I suppose i would just like to be reassured that this is normal and all part of the healing process. Thank you. Faith.

Addiction Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Can't say in your particular case. The pain typically lasts 2 weeks BUT if there is problems with bone like osteoporosis, calcium deficiency, malnutrition, etc, then it might not heal.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Matt Wachsman, Addiction Medicine Specialist
