Suggest Treatment For Trembling And Weak Legs After Workouts

my son is a wrestler, works out 4 to 5 days a week. his diet is clean I started incorporating protein into his diet to help his muscles(also alot of chicke, tuna and greens). I don t know if the protein or fat has anything to do with it but for some reason this past weak he can t even wrestle 3 minutes without his legs giving out. he feels no side pains or leg cramps whatsoever but his legs start to give out. It feels like there trembling add weak. What is the cause of this? he is 18 years old.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

His symptoms could be related to a peripheral nervous system disease. For this reason, I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam. Performing nerve conduction studies may be needed. I would also recommend checking some blood lab tests:
- Complete blood count
- Vitamin D and vitamin B12 plasma levels for possible deficiency

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
