Suggest Treatment For Type 2 Diabetes

Hello, I am a 59 yr old female with type 2 diabetics. My doctor prescribed Gabapentine for the pain in my feet.
I take 2 kinds of insulin,,, 3 units of Humalog before each meal, and 20 units of lantus once a day. I was recently in the hospital for my diabetics. Problems with my kidneys and my heart. I came with in a few hours of dying, that's what they told me anyway. but that has really turned around....now my question.....I am afraid of this Gabapentine. It has some very awful sounding side effects......should I really be worried?

Dear- thanks for using our service, I read your question in detail and will give you my medical advise.Gabapentine is a very good drug to control diabetic neuropathy. It has side effects like all the medications but when you put in a balance the benefits vs the side effects, it will give you more benefits . You are taking insulin and the most important thing is to keep the sugar under control, because it will help you to avoid diabetic complications as nephropathy ,neuropathy and retinopathy.
