Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal, MD.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

It is well known that the metformin tablet is not absorbed well i stomach. In fact sometimes it causes stomach trouble like pain nausea and vomitting.
In fact the tablet may not be getting absorbed leading to rising sugars. If its coming out in stools, its obviously not in the body.

Also, rosuvastatin that you are using for cholesterol raises the sugars albeit marginally. So if the cholesterol is controlled, the dose can be avoided if you exercise regularly.

For sugars, I would suggest crushing the tablet before swallowing it. This can be done externally, or better still with your teeth. The tablet may thus be better absorbed and sugars may be controlled.
If the sugars are still not controlled, we will need to increase the dose gradually and finally if it fails, we will have to change the medicine.

I hope your diet is in control and the exercises are on as well. Tablets alone are not the answer to diabetes and raised sugars

Check HbA1C and lipid profile (if not tested in last 3 months). If you let me know the exact values of your glucometer sugars, and the exact timings, I may be able to help you better- your query says raised sugars. whether these sugars are fasting, PP, or random is something I cannot say. Random sugars are the worst sugars for changing medicines

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above/if any other so I can be of help further.

I have given you the answer to the maximum considering the information provided. The results of the tests could further enhance my answer to you.

Please do understand that some details could be extracted from a detailed history and examination.

Please feel free to ask another query. I would be glad to help you. Looking forward to your return query with the details asked so that I can help you further.
