Suggest Treatment For Upper Stomach Pain?

Hi I was wondering if you could help me out..I have had a pain in my upper middle stomach since Thursday night. It feels like a stabbing pain and at the same time like I got punched in the stomach. When I burp it is very painful right before and after. It only hurts when I move. Thank you!!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The abdominal pain occurs may be due to acute gastritis, food Intolerance, irritable bowel syndrome or peptic ulcer disease etcetera. Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is.

Avoid spicy food, alcohol, painkiller medicine etcetera. Take tablet pantoprazole for one week.

If symptoms not improved, then please consult your doctor. He will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
