Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Dryness And Itch

I had a hysterectomy two years ago and more recently have developed vaginal dryness and itching (thrush-like symptoms). I take regular Premarin and find that an antihistamine tablet helps with the itching. What other over-the-counter medication can I use to help with the itching. Thank you, Tess

Hello,

To treat vaginal dryness, you are suggested to get your hormone tests done. You may require hormone replacement therapy. Take vitamin E rich food or supplements (Evion - 400), once daily for 10-15 days. Take food rich in protein, calcium, magnesium, fruits and veggies.

Avoid douching. Use vaginal lubricants and vaginal moisturizers to reduce itching. You can also use clotrimazole ointments or cream to reduce itching. A course of Fluconazole is effective. Take care of your personal hygiene. Wear loose fitting cotton clothes.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
