Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Itching Post Unprotected Intercourse

Hey so for the last couple of weeks around my vagina area has been very itchy and dry and now I have bumps that I have accidentally made bleed when it has gotten uncomfortable. I used nair a while back and it irritated that area a lot but I should also mention too that I have had unprotected sex. So I am freaking out now about what this could be? .

Hello,

It could be due to minor inflammation or fungal infection like yeast. Consult a gynaecologist and plan for a vaginal swab to make a diagnosis.

As of now you can try antihistamines like pheneramine for itching. Use clotrimazole lotion to cleanse your genitals.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
