Hi doctor,my name is Evangeline from Africa.this evening my two year old cousin complained of vaginal pain after peeing,she said my brother had touched her earlier in the day.I want to have her checked at a hospital tommorow morning but my mum is refusing,what do I do? And what are the complications if I do not have her checked?. Thank you
If your cousin is having pain after urination & you are suspecting sexual abuse then you should help her visit ER, without delay. Get her physically examined, she may need medications & let her get treated if needed.
Neglect may result in worsening of symptoms. Genitourinary disorders after sexual abuse may present with symptoms like painful voiding or urgency, day & night time incontinence, nocturia, haematuria, dysuria, recurrent infections or urinary retention.
