Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Syncope is the sudden loss of awareness resulting in a brief loss of consciousness.

This is commonly referred to as fainting. Syncope must be diagnosed as to cause such as excessively low blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmia, lack of proper diet and hydration, side effects of medications, and other things.

You should have a doctor exam your loved one in order to systematically rule out certain conditions before treating. I recommend a doctor's appointment as soon as possible for the patient.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dariush Saghafi,
