Suggest Ways To Delay Menstrual Bleeding While On Duphaston

Hi. I am currently on day 20 of a normal 28 day cycle. I wish to delay my menstruation for 7 days as I am going on a small vacation with my husband. My menstruation is due to begin in 8 days time. I have been prescribed 10mg Duphaston twice daily but my Doctor has not clarified WHEN to start taking them to successfully STOP menstruation. I would like to be menstruation free from my usual day 28 (which is in 8 days time) for 7 days thereafter. Please advise. Thank you

Hi,

First of all, it is not advisable to disturb the menstrual cycle without any valid medical reason. It may cause many unwanted side effects, different hormone preparation have a different dose schedule.

Generally hormone preparation needs to be started at least a week before the due date of the next menstrual cycle. Chances of heavy bleeding or amenorrhea is likely in the coming cycles.

Hope I have answered your query.
