Suggest Ways To Increase Appetite In A Toddler Other Than Medication
hello doctor, My girl child is of 22 months old and her weight is 10 kg... Usually she eats like a bird but whenever we give CPY L syrup at night she eats sufficiently on the next day.... Sir i want to know that is there any side effects of giving CYP L Oral Syrup regularly to my toddler? Also whenever we stop giving her the syrup she also stops eating.. Please suggest me how to increase her appetite without the medicine or how far we can go by giving the medicine?
Thanks for your query If your daughter is not having deficiency of vitamins and minerals (iron deficiency- quiet common at this age, vitamin D deficiency common again unless getting daily supplementation), kindly do the following. Please increase her physical activity.(strutured play- specially outdoor playful activity so as to make her get tired and hungry for food. Give her more palatable and soft foods inmashed forms. Try variety of nutritious healthy food items in colorful cutlrerry. (mashed fruits/cooked potatoes/khcihri with leafy veg/poha/halwa/dalia/upma) and encourage her to eat herself. Please do not be over anxious and give the next meal at leas 2.5-3 hours after the previous one Giving CYP L is not a a good alternative as it cause mild sedation.
