Suggest Ways To Manage Addiction To Masturbation

I am a sport person and i masturbate since i was 14. My coach told me to not do masturbation, Is really masturbation has a bad effect on health of a sportsperson.I do masturbation once a week. Should i leave it?And also tell me any bad/good effects related with masturbation.Thanks in advance

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have habbit of masturbation which is a health phenomenon in which there is manual stimulation of genitals to achieve orgasm. It is a normal phenomenon and most of people masturbate in some phase of their life. Its complete normal process and cannot be stopped immediately. It is due to high level of testosterone in body. Yes excess of it may cause problems at times. Need not to worry. once in a week is not an addiction and it is completely normal. If you want to get rid for it due to sports activity, i would suggest you to gradually phase it out by decreasing the frequency and divert your attention from it and its thoughts. You can engage yourself by keeping focus on your work, studies and outdoor activities and and avoid watching porn movies. You can visit psychiatrist and get counselling done as it will benefit you. Avoid taking any medication.
