Suggest Ways To Reduce The Swelling And Bruise On Buttock And Ankle After A Fall
My wife, who has Alzheimer s disease, fell and has a large bruise on her buttock and tail bone. Also at the ankle area. all areas are swollen looking like edema. There is no apparent pain, and she is quite actively walking. What can I do to reduce the swelling? It happened three days ago, but it took two days for the swelling to be noticeable.
Due to blunt injury there can be hematoma collection .The bleeding that occurs result in hematoma collection. Over a period of time, as hematoma resolves it cause local skin symptoms around the hematoma.
Continue ice application, and thrombhophobe ointment may help and take rest.
If required you may need to do blood investigation for prognosis and recovery. Take precaution to avoid infection around hematoma. Swelling will subside gradually with rest and limb elevation.
