I had a lumbar puncture done , then a blood patch two days later, still having pressure in my sinus, back of my head and back. Last visit at nero said keep drinking caffeine , I don t have a headache just extreme pressure. Its better when I lay down. Could I still have a slow leak? It has been 1 month and 11 days since the blood patch.
Hello ! I read your question and understand your concern. In my opinion the headache you are having is related to a intracranial hypotension. It is caused by a fluid leak after the lumbar puncture. The fact that it gets better when you lie down is another argument in favor of this diagnosis. This disorder is often cured after an epidural blood patch. But I don't think this has been very effective in your case. I would recommend to consult your neurologist, have a brain MRI , which shows typical changes in intracranial hypotension. You may need new epidural blood patch to solve your problem. Intracranial hypotension is a disorder which can cause serious complications if not treated. Hope to have been helpful!
