General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think the problem is more psychological than medical. It doesn't cause a body dependency but mind, psychological dependency. Doing psychotherapy is advisable. Also doing it less often can help you forget this habit.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
