Hello solsticeboy
Welcome to HCM
Due to proposed surgery anyone can become anxious and in OCD anxiousness increases. There is no chances of caffeine overdose. But to avoid anxiety try-
-Thought stopping technique immediately in mind say stop whenever obsessive thought comes in mind, this will help to to decrease anxiety.
-Relaxation techniques like Progressive Muscle Relaxation techniques will help
-Deep breathing exercises also cause immediate relaxation and will help to relieve anxiety.
so try these techniques and go for surgery, all the best.

Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

Though it is true that excessie amounts of caffeine can worsen anxiety, having 3-4 cups of coffee a day does not amount to a caffeine overdose. Moreover, your anxiety could very well be due to other reasons - the stress about the upcoming surgery, your OCD, etc.

I would suggest that you try relaxation techniques like deep breathing, progressive muscke relaxation, yoga, etc. You should also try to try to distract your mind from any anxious or negative thoughts and keep yourself active and engaged all the time. In case, your anxiety becomes too difficult to handle, then please seek professional help.

Wish you all the best.

Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
OCD is an anxiety disorder and you getting anxious before surgery is understandable. By drinking 3-4 cups of coffee, you have surely increased your bodies caffeine, but its not sufficient to cause any toxicity. Moreover all the effects are reversible. So stop feeling anxious about it.
Try deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation. Benzodiazepines can help you in calming down and having some sleep before the surgery. But then you should consult your anesthetist before using that.
Hope I am able to solve your concerns
Have a good health.
