Swelling And Pain In The Arm While Bending Due To An Injury. Is There A Sprain Or Fracture?

Hi, I recently fell forward skateboarding and took a hard fall catching it with my left palm. It hurt pretty bad for the rest of the day but I shrugged it off, with little swelling and no bruising. It's now the next day and I feel sharp pains when extending, bending, and rotating my arm. The pain is mostly on the upper part of my forearm on the thumb side, near the elbow. Is it a sprain? Or a possible fracture?

Hi,
From history and having pain with certain movement at elbow doubts about fracture of upper radius area giving this problem.
There might be heavy strain or twisting injury on the part.
Go for x-ray elbow joint to rule out fracture.
consult orthopedic surgeon and get examined.
Do ice pack and give rest to the part.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

The symptoms suggest there is injury at your extensors. Since there was slight swelling get one xray done to rule out any fracture. It may be due to fracture or sprain as both presents as pain and swelling. Now restrict any movements, take analgesic (NSAIDs) and consult your doctor for examination and management according to diagnosis.
